fa la la la la la la

Yesterday we had the end-of-year assembly at school, with 2nd and 5th graders singing christmas songs. we were in a huge auditorium, many parents came. there was a big christmas tree with pretty lights, and everyone was wearing red and green - it was SO beautiful.

When they started singing "deck the halls with boughs of holly, fa la la la la la la la la" my eyes got all teary. My tricky mind had taken me back to one of the sweetes memories I have: snow falling outside, turning everything white, and all of IMS gathered in the elm room, all cozy and warm. Soft lights, teachers, children and parents sitting on the floor, love and happinness all around, while we sang christmas songs. It happened almost two years ago, but it's one of my "happy places", where I always go when I need some beautiful toughts.

It's good to be here - it's so hard to have left.

I have a happy place with you in Ithaca too!

It was in that park you took my picture disheveled!

Love you
